ISSA (Information Systems Security Association) is an international organisation that, among many others things, helps information security practitioners (probably very much like yourself) to learn, to share knowledge, to communicate with their peers and, above all, to expand their horizons. One of the events that facilitate all the above are monthly meetings that feature presentations, lectures, discussions, etc. As you can imagine, such meetings make up an excellent opportunity to broaden and deepen your knowledge and to meet up with other security people from your area.

And here comes a good news for all of you located near Wrocław area in Poland – we are going to have monthly ISSA Polska meetings in Wrocław very soon. All is just being buttoned up, so you can expect the exact news regarding a place and date any time now.

Be sure to come and bring all your IT-Sec friends with you! The more of us meets up, the more knowledge and experience there is to share. The meetings are going to be open for anyone, so stay tuned and see you there soon!

If you’re from Wroclaw or from nearby, be sure to show up at the first meeting of ISSA Polska held in Wroclaw. What do you think about public speaking? Are you, by any chance, one of those people who feel entirely confident when performing on stage? No trembling hands at all? Because people aren't usually born ready and prepared to get on stage and give a wonderful emotional performance. And if they think they do, they usually give a pretty crappy one. You are not born a speaker, you become one.

So, to rephrase, have you ever thought of becoming a successful public speaker? Have you ever wanted to overcome your fears? If you did and you haven’t heard about Toastmasters yet, it’s something you should definitely try. Find a club near you and go to the meeting. See how it is and if you like it, join and start amazing even yourself!
